Announcements

Enrollment for the 2018-2019 school year will open in January 2018!

We are excited to announce that we we will have a visual arts department this year! We will be offering sculpting, drawing, painting and art history. We have also added Glee Club Class in our Musical Theater Department along with French and Spanish. Due to these additional choices, we are asking each student to submit a new class schedule. Snow Pond Arts Academy is a free public performing arts charter high school that integrates the power of the arts with a rigorous academic experience.

The performing arts curriculum in music, theatre and dance will include: lessons, technique classes, small and large group ensembles, comprehensive courses in theory, history, and more.

Students interested in enrolling to SPAA do not need to audition, and are not required to have a great amount of experience in the performing arts. However, they should have a strong interest in the arts.

Why The Performing Arts?

Great education is both the accumulation of knowledge and the cultivation of engagement, imagination, and the understanding of civic and social responsibility. SPAA students will be more than musicians and artists; they will be prepared for a lifetime of learning, and active citizenship.

The evidence is compelling, when young people are exposed to the arts they show improved:

  • Creativity

  • Critical Thinking Skills

  • Collaboration Skills

  • Communication Skills

  • Self-Esteem

  • Leadership

  • Test Scores
